Q: What’s your secret to your success?
A: I activate every offer and add those items with bonus points to my shopping list. I make a point of getting the big points for certain spends over a number of weeks. I get mad as hell if my partner forgets to scan his linked Flybuys card!
Q: How does Flybuys fit into your life? Any benefits you’re busting to share?
A: It’s such a big part of my life. I’m gunning for certain bonus points and I’m always looking to get more points through partners. I’ve signed up to G’Day Parks. I get new tyres at MyCar. And I use a Coles Rewards Credit Card, to name a few...
Q: How far do you go to collect bonus points?
A: My Coles Rewards Credit Card is probably my favourite way to collect points – I put everything on it. It’s a passive earner, so I don’t even have to think about it. These days, you can scan your card everywhere. So at the end of the month, when I get my statement, I’m like, “Wow! Look at that. I got all these extra points!” It’s like a silent hero in my back pocket – so easy to set and forget.
Q: How do you redeem all those not-so-hard-earned points?
A: At the moment, I use the points mainly for Kmart shopping (it’s the Bunnings for mums). I’ve used my stash of points to tick off bucket-list experiences like a hot-air balloon ride and a Sydney Harbour Bridge climb. I owe it to Flybuys for those memories.
Q: How does it feel to be part of the Flybuys 50?
A: How does it feel? Freaking awesome! When I found out I was part of the 50, I actually squealed, and I think I might have done a little happy dance on the spot. I’m really proud of accumulating points – I’m always telling my friends to get in on Flybuys.
Q: What advice would you give to a new Flybuys member who wants to follow in your footsteps?
A: Stack your points offers! I also use all the partners to boost my points. And mark the key dates for when offers end so you remember to use them before they expire. My friends think it’s too much effort, but it’s really not. You have a shopping list anyway!
