We started by scanning our database for members who show off the Flybuys attitude in all sorts of ways – not just the points-rich. After crunching the numbers, running opt-in surveys and doing rounds of interviews to learn more about them, we found 50 members who are stacking points like there’s no tomorrow. Joining the Flybuys 50 for a second time it’s… drum roll, please… Darian, the laidback member who threw down a points challenge to his dad. Over the past year, he’s found some crafty ways to remain up top. With his insurance already linked to his account and his card scanning left and right, how else could he get ahead? Enter: flypay. Now he’s online and ready to rumble.
Fierce competition aside, Darian’s proud of his dad’s remarkable points accomplishments. He even maintains the same motto from last year: anyone can do what he does. They just have to tap into the spirit of Flybuys.
Q: You’re back for the second time in a row! How does it feel to be part of the Flybuys 50 again?
A: I am so excited to meet the next group of Flybuys 50. I learned a thing or two from my fellow Flybuys 50 members last year, so I like to think I’m a bit wiser with a few new tips to share myself. It’s great to hear how the best players in the field are racking up the points!
Q: What’s your secret to success? Have you done anything differently this year?
A: I've gone totally digital by adding flypay to get even more points and easily use them over the past year. I’m also using the app a lot. It makes it even easier to activate the offers and check my points and balance. The only thing that works harder than me is my Coles Rewards Credit Card – I use it so much that it’s scratching away and I’ve got to get a new one.
Q: How does Flybuys fit into your life? Any benefits you’re busting to share?
A: I’m all about a Coles shop and being topped up with the insurance products and promos. I love all the new benefits on offer at Liquorland. I’ve been converting my points to Velocity a lot lately too. I’m hoping to have a great family holiday in July. Surely there can’t be anyone left in Australia who’s not in the Flybuys program at this point? You’d be crazy not to be!
Q: You might have noticed we’ve got some new partners. Have you been shopping with them?
A: I am absolutely loving the new Bunnings partnership! I'm there every second weekend, scanning my card and picking up the essentials for my home renos.
Q: How’s your dad? Is the father/son Flybuys rivalry still strong?
A: I think my dad has been catching up to me this past year. I threw down a challenge last time and he is nipping at my heels!
Q: What inspires you to stay at the top of your points game
A: We all know that the cost of living is an issue at the moment, and I feel that Flybuys really has my back as we all make ends meet.
