3. Earning points

3.1. Points will be credited to your account after we are notified by a Participant that you have earned points on a Qualifying Transaction by using your Flybuys card or quoting your Flybuys number. We will use reasonable endeavours to procure that Participants provide timely and accurate notifications of Qualifying Transactions, however, we are not otherwise responsible for any delay or failure of a Participant to notify us of the details of such transactions. You should contact the Participant if you dispute the points awarded for a Qualifying Transaction.

3.2. Participants have their own terms and conditions for awarding points which may change from time to time with reasonable notice provided to you in respect of any material change. This notice will be provided via the Participant page on the Flybuys website.  We recommend that you check the Flybuys website from time to time to inform yourself of any changes in relation to offers. Participants may also issue bonus points (in addition to any standard base points) under special promotions from time to time. Participant terms and conditions are available on the Flybuys website or on request from the Flybuys Service Centre, and form part of these Terms and Conditions.

3.3. Participants may reverse points where a transaction is cancelled or a refund given.

3.4. We may, acting reasonably, correct erroneous, or invalid points allocations or adjust for reversed transactions at any time even if it would put your membership account into a negative points balance.  We will use reasonable endeavours to ensure all such corrections and adjustments are accurate and are made promptly.  

3.5. You may check your points balance at any time via the Flybuys website, Flybuys app or by contacting us at the Flybuys Service Centre. We may also, at our discretion, periodically send you a points summary using the most recent contact details you have provided. We may make your points balance available in other ways, for example, on a Participants’ receipt.

3.6. Points do not expire unless:

3.6.1. You have not registered with Flybuys, in which case they will automatically expire in three months of when card is first swiped; or

3.6.2. You do not earn or redeem any points on your account for a period of 12 consecutive months, then your points, and any Flybuys Dollars, will automatically expire and we may also terminate your membership and close your account.

3.7. Flybuys will contact you by email using the most recent contact details you have provided prior to any expiry or account closure in accordance with this clause.  

3.8. You cannot transfer, sell, or give your points to any other person.

3.9. Flybuys points and Flybuys Dollars have no cash or monetary value.
