First things first: Flybuys is a rewards program that allows you to collect points on your everyday spending, like the weekly shop at Coles or filling up your tank at Shell Reddy Express. Once you’ve collected enough points, you can redeem them for rewards, like money off your shop, flights and hotels, gift cards or products from the Rewards Store.

Flybuys is one of the biggest rewards programs in Australia, and we have over 20 places where you can collect points, including Coles, Bunnings Warehouse, Officeworks, Kmart, Liquorland – and many more. Here’s everything you need to know to get the most out of your Flybuys account.

How to join

Step 1

Select Join Flybuys from the Flybuys app or flybuys.com.au.

Step 2

Enter your email and password and select Continue.

Step 3

Enter your name and date of birth. If you have a temporary card, add it at this step to get the points from your temporary card added to your registered account.

Step 4

Enter your postal address to receive a physical Flybuys card.

Step 5

Verify your email address to complete your account. If you want to collect points faster, add an additional cardholder to your account.

How to collect points

There are heaps of ways you can collect points. Here are a few:

• Scan your Flybuys whenever you shop at Coles, Bunnings, Kmart, Officeworks or Kmart, or fill up your car with petrol at Shell Reddy Express.
• Sign up for a Flybuys points credit card from Citi, NAB or Coles. With a Coles Rewards Mastercard, you can even collect double points on eligible purchases – 2 points for every $1 you spend on eligible purchases.
• Book a holiday with Flybuys Travel or G’day Parks.
• Switch your utilities and health insurance with Optus, HCF and Coles Insurance.
• Fill out a survey. Visit the Offers page and tap ‘View surveys’.
• Activate offers, especially the big ones like the Coles four-week promo. Keep checking your emails and the ‘Offers’ section of the website or Flybuys app.

How to activate offers

Step 1

Check your offers in the Flybuys app, on the website or in emails. Check back frequently to make sure you don’t miss any offers.

Step 2

Hit ‘Activate now’ on every offer before you shop.

Step 3

Scan your Flybuys when you checkout.

Tip: you need to activate offers before you shop, or else you won’t get the bonus points.

How to redeem points

Here are just a few ways you can use your points:

• Shop over 1,000 rewards in the Rewards Store, from categories like appliances, tech, and gift cards.
• Book flights and hotels with Flybuys Travel or transfer your Flybuys points to Velocity Points to use with Velocity Frequent Flyer.
• Pay for your shop with Flybuys Dollars – or flypay if you’re shopping on Coles Online.
