The following section outlines the terms and conditions relating to the allocation of points to members by AGL. It should be read in conjunction with and in addition to the standard Flybuys Terms and Conditions.
AGL Flybuys points general terms
- AGL reserves the right to amend the range of products and services that are eligible to earn points from time to time at its discretion.
- Points issued by AGL can be reversed at AGL’s and/or Flybuys’ discretion, including if a member’s payment is dishonoured, a refund is given, and/or if there has been a wrong allocation.
- AGL reserves the right not to issue points to an eligible AGL customer whose energy account has been assigned to an agent for the collection of debt or who otherwise has outstanding overdue debts owing to AGL.
- From time to time, AGL may offer bonus points to existing or new AGL customers or for the purchase of AGL products and services.
- AGL is responsible for the calculation of points offered by AGL for a member’s energy consumption or purchases, but AGL is not responsible or liable for the provision of points, which is the sole responsibility of Flybuys.
- AGL is a points issuer only. Points cannot be redeemed through or with AGL or any AGL affiliated entities.
- To be eligible to earn Flybuys points on approved AGL products and services customers must have an active Flybuys membership. Terms and conditions and eligibility criteria apply. Visit the Flybuys website and the AGL website for full details.
Privacy
By linking their AGL energy account(s) to their Flybuys membership number, members are consenting to AGL holding their Flybuys membership number.
AGL will notify Flybuys of the number of points members have earnt from payment of their AGL energy bills. Any information relating to members and their participation in Flybuys through AGL may also be used by AGL for marketing, planning, product development, research and other commercial purposes.
Energy account Flybuys offers - Base eligibility criteria
To be an eligible AGL customer who can earn points though AGL, a member must:
- hold an active residential gas and/or electricity account with AGL in New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia or those parts of Queensland or WA where AGL operates;
- have successfully linked their Flybuys membership number to their AGL energy account(s) via the Flybuys registration process;
- ensure that their AGL account name is identical to their Flybuys membership name; and
- adhere to AGL’s minimum payment terms and conditions. ActewAGL and Powerdirect customers and AGL business customers are not eligible for points from AGL for paying ActewAGL, Powerdirect or business energy bills.
AGL energy plan Flybuys points offer:
Points will be issued on recognition by AGL of payment (in part or full) to a linked AGL customer residential gas and/or electricity account.
Points will be credited to a member’s Flybuys account within 60 days from recognition of payment by AGL until 20 June 2021. For clarity, if the member's bill payments are deferred for any period, points won't be credited during that period. Crediting of points will resume in accordance with these terms when bill payments recommence. See https://www.agl.com.au/terms-conditions/flybuys for details.
- 1 point per $2 spent
Flybuys members that are eligible AGL customers will be issued one (1) point for every two (2) whole dollars paid to AGL for payment of the member’s residential gas and/or electricity bill if they have not successfully registered for eBilling or My Account. What is happening with the partnership?
From 20 June 2021, the Flybuys and AGL partnership will conclude.
How does this affect me?
From 20 June 2021, you will no longer be able to earn Flybuys points with AGL.
Can I still take up bonus point offers between now and 20 June 2021?
Yes, you can, so long as you linked your AGL and Flybuys accounts by the 31 March 2021.
Bonus points – monthly direct debit
500 bonus points are available for switching to monthly billing and direct debit, respectively. Offers end 21 May 2021.
Bonus points – e-bills
The points benefit of switching from paper bills to e-bills is available until 13 June 2021. Earn 1 point for every $1 spent when you switch to e-bills.
Terms and conditions apply for both of the above offers.
I took up other bonus points offers recently. Will I still get the points?
Yes. You’ll still receive your bonus points provided you met the eligibility requirements as specified in the T&Cs of your offer. Your points will be credited to your Flybuys account within 10 business days after the partnership concludes on 20 June 2021.
My billing cycle doesn’t end on 20 June 2021. Will I still get the points?
Yes. We’ll credit your Flybuys account with the eligible points earned up until 20 June 2021 once your bill payment has been received by AGL.
I took up the Movers bonus point offer, but I’m not moving house until after 20 June 2021. Will I still be eligible for my bonus points?
Yes. Regardless of your move date, we’ll credit your Flybuys account with 5,000 bonus points within 10 business days after the partnership concludes on 20 June 2021.
I took up the Tenure bonus points offer, but 15 months has not yet passed. Will I still be eligible for the remainder of my bonus points?
Yes. We’ll credit your Flybuys account with your remaining bonus points as a lump sum within 10 business days after the partnership concludes on 20 June 2021.
