The Flybuys 50 gives us an opportunity to celebrate some of our most engaged members, and gives them a platform to share their secrets to success so others can experience more value. We started our nationwide search by looking for members who show off the Flybuys attitude in all sorts of ways — not just the points-rich. After crunching the numbers, running opt-in surveys and doing rounds of interviews to learn more about them, we found 50 members sent us in their snazzy selfies so we could put faces to the names, and 10 lucky members got to be part of a fancy photoshoot. Anna’s upped the ante following her moment of Flybuys fame last year. In her wallet, you’ll find a Coles Rewards Mastercard, a NAB Rewards Platinum Credit Card and a well-loved Flybuys card, of course. When she’s not flexing at the gym, she’s keeping an eye out for bonus offers and redeeming her points for gift cards at Coles (hello grocery hack).
With a points-paid trip to Fiji under her belt, Anna’s gearing up for her biggest Flybuys year yet. In her words: “I’m back, baby!” We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.
You’re back for the second time in a row! What do your family and friends think of your Flybuys career?
When I was in the Flybuys 50 last year, they wanted to know how I did it and how they could join. When I told them I’m back for a second time, they were excited and told me that they knew I could do it. It’s nice!
From Christmas lights to extra-special overseas trips, you’ve scored some impressive rewards. What’s your next big points goal?
My next big goal is a Nintendo Switch from Target for my kids. I’ll start by getting my points up, so I can then redeem them for Flybuys dollars to use towards the shop. Then I’ll wait for it to go on sale, so I can get that saving.
Do you brag about being a top Flybuys member?
All the time! I teach gym classes and I’m exposed to lots of different people, across many locations. I love telling them that I’m back in the Flybuys 50. A few people have come up to me and said that they’ve seen me on YouTube or a billboard, which is pretty cool.
How do you build your points balance?
My baseline that I use to collect points – where I use the app, activate and stack my offers – has evolved. I’ve got two points-collecting credit cards, the Coles Rewards Mastercard and NAB Rewards Platinum Credit Card. This way, I can get points from the offer, points for purchasing with my credit cards and points for shopping with a Flybuys partner. It’s like triple-dipping!
What advice would you give to someone looking to build their own Flybuys fortune?
Listen to our stories. We show that you don’t have to go out of your way to get points. You can find a way for it to fit into your lifestyle and how to make your points grow. If you’re not a Flybuys person – get on it. It can really give you bang for your buck and make your dollars count.
How do you maintain peak Flybuys fitness all year round?
It’s just like going to the gym. If you do it every week, then you’ll see results. So be consistent with swiping your Flybuys card and always have it on you (or at least use the app, which stores your card). When you exercise, you always want to activate every muscle – same goes for Flybuys offers!
