We started our nationwide search by looking for members who show off the Flybuys attitude in all sorts of ways — not just the points-rich. After crunching the numbers, running opt-in surveys and doing rounds of interviews to learn more about them, we found 50 members sent us in their snazzy selfies so we could put faces to the names, and 10 lucky members got to be part of a fancy photoshoot. It’s the little things that make Jenny jump for joy. It might be a trip to the beach, a morning meditation or fresh points-paid towels. The biggest win in her books? The perfect bargain. You’re a fan of the Coles freebies. Do you have a favourite product that you’ve collected?
I love the knives and the salad bowls. We love the knives so much, my husband even went out and bought a magnetic wall strip to hang them on. I’m also starting a glory box for my daughter for when she moves out. I’ve got her glasses and some salad bowls, like the ones I gave my nieces as an extra little Christmas gift.
What tips would you give to someone who wants to make the most of Flybuys?
Activate every single offer. If there’s new products that might give you extra points, give them a whirl. Lately I’ve been loving the yoghurts and yummy Coles zucchini slices. And I love the big two-week and four-week bonus offers. It’s all about making it work with how you like to shop.
How does Flybuys help your bargain hunting?
People are so surprised by my bargain hunting ability! I literally can’t believe how much Flybuys helps me find bargains. I love the Coles freebies and getting money off shop. Our neighbour tells everyone, “Go shopping with Jenny. She’ll find you the best bargain!” Every time I look at my app, I’m surprised by how many points I have in there and how much I have to redeem.
How does Flybuys help you save money on gifting and entertaining during the holiday season?
Around September, I’ll start thinking about Christmas and how Flybuys can help. I’ll redeem points for gift cards for my nieces, neighbour and sister-in-law. And then I’ll put any points I have left over towards my big Christmas shop. Last holidays, even though I had spent all my Flybuys dollars by the end of the year, I ended up with extra points from all the spending I’d been doing. I felt so clever!
What’s your favourite thing to spend your points on?
Oh, I love to spend my points on new towels every year. I change the colour scheme and it makes my house feel so beautiful. It’s pretty cool – not many people get fresh towels for both bathrooms every year.
Do you have a Flybuys team that helps to boost your points?
Yes! I’ve connected my father-in-law’s card to my account and my husband has a card too. My daughter really wants to get her own account, even though she’s only 15 years old. I told her, “I guess I’ll see you in the Flybuys 50 campaign next year!
