We started our nationwide search by looking for members who show off the Flybuys attitude in all sorts of ways — not just the points-rich. After crunching the numbers, running opt-in surveys and doing rounds of interviews to learn more about them, we found 50 members sent us in their snazzy selfies so we could put faces to the names, and 10 lucky members got to be part of a fancy photoshoot. What’s your secret to Flybuys success?
Definitely my Coles Rewards Mastercard. I love it. I’m always looking to double up those points!
You’ve picked up some impressive rewards, from iPads and a brand-new gazebo to return flights to New Zealand. What are you looking to splurge your points on next?
We’re going to get some new tech. We’ve got our eye on some new upgrades for our iPhones and iPads. And we’ll get some Home gift cards from the Rewards Store, too. We’ve scored so well on the Rewards Store. There’s so much choice and it really works if you make the most of it!
How would you spend a million points?
Oh my word. I’d definitely book flights to somewhere special. My husband is English, so we’d take a few trips to the UK. And I’m sure there’s room for a few gift cards from the Rewards Store.
You say that Flybuys is as easy as ABC. Can you tell us how that catchphrase has helped you boost your points?
It’s about remembering to activate everything in your app and looking for your regular basket bonuses. Then, if you can, get a Coles Rewards Mastercard and pay with that, so you can double up on points. It really is a no-brainer!
Why do you think other members should hop on the Coles Rewards Mastercard bandwagon?
It’s double the points! It’s a small fee every year, but I think it’s so worth it for the points that we get. And I don’t just use it for my Coles shopping or when I shop with Flybuys partners – I use it for everything.
What inspires you to keep collecting?
I love getting rewarded for shopping that I’m already doing. I probably go a bit overboard activating and fulfilling offers. Sometimes, I’ll buy a product to get the bonus points and gift it to someone. I’ll admit – I’m a little bit obsessed!
